The GME Division has held the NBR ISO 9001:2000 – Quality Management Systems – Requirements Certificate since 2003 and, in November 2004, it was recommended by BVQi for the HACCP - Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points – Food Safety Certificate, in accordance with NBR 14,900.
As a member of M. Dias Branco, a business conglomerate which is distinguished by the excellence of the products it produces, GME can vouch for its concern with supplying products that are free from any chemical, physical or biological contamination which can cause risk or damage to the health of its consumers. This is why it is the first company in the margarine refinery and production segment in Ceará to obtain this HACCP certificate.
Through this System, which has already been implemented and certified, GME offers a competitive advantage by guaranteeing the safety and quality of all its products. Another differential is its capacity for low-cost production, which diminishes wastage or the reprocessing of material that has already been used. On competing in a globalized market, it does not only comply with the legislation in force, but is recognized by international institutions which are references in the food safety area, such as: the World Health Organization (WHO), the World Trade Organization (WTO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
